Spain - a country of animal lovers? « Result #3 on Oct 2, 2008, 3:28pm »
How many times have we seen animals, some beautiful animals, totally abandoned by their owners? For most of us it seems that witnessing this type of treatment to animals is a regular occurrence. Personally, I have a dog (Husky) who was abandoned. She was left tied to a tree in my front garden. That was over 8 yrs ago and she has turned out to be one of the most loving, loyal companions I have ever had. I also have a lovely cat whose owner threw her over the fence into my garden. The fence is well over 6ft and the person that threw her obviously had no thought for the cat! They also threw her two tiny kittens over the fence also. What sort of person does this? The latest addition arrived yesterday. My daughter watched in horror as a woman(?)and her very fat daughter, stopped their car alongside the field opposite my house and threw a very small kitten, as far as they could, into the field. When my daughter shouted and started running towards them, they got back into the car and sped off. As you can guess, this little fella (who is in desperate need of a loving home) is now resident with me. The kitten is only about 8-10 wks old and has a fabulous little character. He is also very affectionate and I'm amazed how someone can be so cruel to such a lovely little creature. Unfortunately this is an every day occurrence in Spain with thousands of animals being abandoned on a regular basis. I love Spain very much and really enjoy living here but these activities make me evil, very evil!

I find the Costa Del Sol Community web site very useful and I plan to visit the Crocodile Park this summer. I also found the information on Sanitas and Bupa both informative and very worrying at the same time. I know profits are important to all businesses but to stoop so low to increase profits is disgusting!
Rental apartment - August. « Result #5 on May 27, 2008, 7:56am »
I know this is very short notice but I am looking for a holiday apartment for 2 weeks (any two weeks!) during the month of August. It must be reasonably priced. I am a single parent with 2 children - 1 is 12 yrs and the other is 5yrs. The area we prefer is Benalmadena/Torremolinos and we need to be near to beach, shops etc. Can anyone help?
